Co-operative Support Services for Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurs was established in 2006 and is a minority ethnic-led organization working to design projects and activities aimed at contributing towards the development of ethnic minority groups in Ireland.

CSS works for the empowerment of ethnic minorities through self-reliance, self-development and capacity building activities and to ultimately contribute towards the reduction of poverty and poverty traps in ethnic minority communities in Ireland.

The key aim of the Ethnic Minorities Co-operative Initiative project is to encourage ethnic minority groups to actively increase their level of participation in Irish society in an effort to assist individuals and groups of individuals to improve their position in relation to income and general quality of life and participation issues.

Mission and Vision

CSS has a vision of Ireland as a multi-cultural country where both native Irish and new Irish can realise their dreams and work together to create a more successful country in the future.

CSS has a vision for itself to be recognised as the reference organisation for co-operative ethnic entrepreneurs in Ireland and to become a key player in the business life of the country. It has an ambition to become an advocacy organisation that will represent the views of its members in all relevant forums including within the political arena.

CSS sees its mission as one of encouraging and helping immigrants to unlock their full potential by pooling their skills and resources to develop co-operative businesses in their chosen business sectors. It aims to achieve this by developing a best practice model for the creation of new co-operative businesses. It will offer excellent business advice, training and development and a range of publications tailored to the needs of its members.
